Bill graduated from Metro City Christian High School in 1976. He received a Graduate of Theology degree from North Texas Baptist College; a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Sacramento Baptist College, Sacramento, California; a Master of Arts in Bible from Baptist Christian University and a PhD in Theology from Louisiana Baptist University. In addition, Baptist Christian University conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Divinity. He also attended the Criswell Center for Biblical Studies in Dallas, Texas, and Liberty University of Lynchburg, Virginia.

Bill served on church staff with his father beginning his junior year in high school in May, 1974 until his father retired and he became senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Fort Worth, in December, 1984. In August of 1996 Bill and Cindy started Metroport Cities Fellowship or The Met Church and transitioned away from their former pastorate to lead The Met Church full time in February, 1997.

As a pastor with more than 45 years of ministry experience, the thousands of people who call The Met Church home have come to know Pastor Bill for his quick wit, his tender heart, and his authenticity from the stage. However, those years of ministry experience have not come without trial. In 2015, Cindy Ramsey was diagnosed with a terminal, incurable, genetic brain disease – Huntington’s Chorea. For nearly 5 years, as Pastor Bill led the church in exciting growth, he also navigated caring for his wife who was in declining health. In May 2019, Cindy Ramsey transitioned from her earthly body to her heavenly home. Cindy’s legacy continues to live on through our vibrant ministries, community outreach, and emphasis on the next generation. Bill continues to lead with the commitment and determination to fulfill the vision at The Met that God imparted to he and Cindy believing our best days are yet to come.
